Portrait of a Navajo (Dine’) woman weary from “The Long Walk” in which the US Army forcibly removed the tribe from their ancestral lands in Arizona to Fort Sumner. It was a 400 mile walk and many perished along the way. The army offered them no assistance and had no empathy for their plight.
