Moon Shadow has indeed been a long time in production. The double moons converge with the black river in this quiet piece. Intimate viewing brings out the subtle details, shadows, and texture of the piece emphasized by the intricate stitching.

This piece was begun in 2009 using remnants from another artwork but expanding the scale of the work. Other work and commissions seemed to always take precedence and I just wasn’t sure how to bring it all together. The white and blue moons were design elements from the start. The addition of the river didn’t come about until late 2014. The textural hand stitching design came to the forefront in December of 2014 and from then until Mid-March of 2015, this was the project that took over studio time. This wall artwork is intended to be hung in either a vertical or horizontal orientation, which gives it many different appearances and keeps the work fresh for collectors and viewers.
