The figures were all created from photo reference I had gathered over the years.
However, the entire landscape was done “en plein air”, meaning “ON THE SPOT”. I took this large 36×48 canvas to the bottom of my drive, and painted the landscape that was there! (Good thing I did it the year I did, because the “new neighbor” that moved on the 10 acres adjacent to me, clear cut ALL the trees from his home down to the logging road that I use to get to my home!! There is nothing there now, except the many structures he added.
I was so blessed to have lived here the many years prior!
