BEYOND WORDS
I started this painting, and heard my Father was dying, so immediately fly back to Virginia.
The doctors said Dad was brain dead, and would never fully recover, to do ONE voluntary thing, not even closing his mouth (w/ the removal of the life support.)
So we brought him home for his last 7 days. I sat with him 24/7, nite & day.
Dad’s responded to me several times! Once I kissed him on his forehead, and he puckered to kiss me back! Another time I said: “Dad, you are so stubborn” and he twitch his eye. Later I realized he was trying to wink: “You bet I AM stubborn!”
Returning Home I began to finish this painting, and realized it all dealt with my Dad’s final journey! His physical body was in total view to us, just as the woman in front… but like her, he could not “see” me. BUT like the woman with the red umbrella, looking directly at the viewer, was like his soul looking out and thus his responding to things I said or did, to let me know HE WAS StILL HERE!!
Thus the title to this painting BEYOND WORDS
They said he was unconscious
But he and I knew better
For three Miraculous Days
We spoke…Beyond Words.
And then he left
On his journey Home.
They said he was unconscious
But he and I knew better
For three Miraculous Days
We spoke…Beyond Words.
And then he left
On his journey Home.
